Washing hands experiment

Hi Bloggers, today i did a washing hands experiment with my mum.

What you need:
1 bowl of water
Pepper
Soap hand wash

Firstly we put water in the bowl and then we added pepper. We tested it by putting in my finger that had no soap first. Nothing happened to the pepper.

Secondly we put soap on my finger and added it into the water. WOW! The pepper was moving away from my finger! It was so cool.

This experiment showed me why its important to wash your hands with soap! It kills the germs and makes them go away. woohoo!

Make sure you wash your hands everyday

Bye have a good weekend!

  1. Hi Noah,
I've done that expirement before. I did it with my cousin and my sister. Once I put my finger in it, the pepper spread out, still keeping the shape of a circle. I learnt it off '5 minute crafts'. It seems like you are having a lot of fun in lock-down. I haven't done any expirements yet, I need to learn one.

It was nice to hear from you, Noah. I'd love to hear more about the things you've been doing in lock-down.
    Have a fantastic day. Tofa!

  3. Kia ora Noah! Thank you for blogging about what you have been doing. This a good experiment to show why it is important to wash our hands properly, especially at this time. You might find some other little science experiments you can conduct at home as well. Be safe and be kind. Tofa Noah!

  4. This is a fantastic blog Noah, thank you for sharing your learning with us. It is great that you have set the blog out in a procedural format, telling the readers what they need before explaining what has to be done. Also, it's a great way of sharing the message of why washing our hands is so important. We'll look forward to hearing more about your learning as we continue through the lock down experience.

  6. Hey Noah

It is very very very good that you are washing your hands. That experiment seems very interesting. I have seen that experiment on Tik Tok. It is like the dots pretend to be bacterias and when you put soap in your finger and you touch the bowl with bacteria, the bacterias stand back to not get touched by the soap. That is how important is to wash your hands.

    Cheers!

  9. Hi Noah, what a super important message you have shared with us! We must keep washing our hands! It's great seeing an experiment that actually shows what happens. I am so careful to wash my hands so many times a day! It's a very sensible way of protecting ourselves. How many times a day do you think you wash your hands?
Thank you for sharing learning with us. I look forward to seeing more of your term two learning.
