Whats up bloggers,
Today for my 'other' task I chose to do an NRL Player Profile presentation about my 3 favourite players and me. If you don't know what the NRL is, it is the National Rugby League in Australia that the NZ Warriors play for too. There are 16 teams in the NRL. 15 of them are Australian and 1 is kiwi. Lots of kiwi men and woman play for australian teams and some australians play for the NZ Warriors like Karl Lawton, Lachlan Burr, Adam K, Wade Eagan, Daniel Alvaro and George Jennings.
Do you watch league? Who is your favourite team and player?
Let me know. Blog you later!
Noah
Hi Noah,
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about the NRL so your blog has been very helpful :)
What position do you play?
How long for have you been playing for your club?
It's good to see you blogging about what you are passionate about.
Keep up the awesome blogging :)
Hi Mrs Najak
DeleteThanks for your comment
In my U9 team we dont really have positions yet we just have 8 players on the field at a time with lots of rules to follow. This is my 4th year playing league for Mt Albert Lions. Im glad this blog was helpful for you:)
Kia ora Noah. 22 tries this year, wow you were on fire! I like how easy you've made your slides to read. I'm more of a Blues fan but I've been to see the Warriors a few times and once I caught a T-shirt when they were firing them into the crowd (it was too big so I gave it to my friend who is a massive Warriors fan). Have you ever tried designing your own jerseys? I remember doing that for my favourite football teams when I was at school in England.

DeleteThanks for the comment on my blog!
That is so cool that you caught a T-shirt!
I have been missing the home games at Mt Smart this year. Maybe i can catch a T-shirt next year if the virus goes away.
But no I have not tried that yet and what a good idea!! Maybe I can try do that today. Go the Warriors!!!!!!
Hi Noah
ReplyDeleteStudying something you enjoy and have good knowledge of would have been very engaging for you. I did know that the Warriors played in the NRL competitions but had never thought about what the initials stood for. Now I know. Thankyou for sharing your knowledge. When our son was young he was an Auckland soccer rep. At a tournament an independent person watched all the teams and he put together a list of names of players who stood out. He called it 'dream team'. Perhaps you could pick a dream team from all the teams represented.
Well done with your online learning.
Stay safe and well and we will see you back at school nwxt week.
Hi Mrs Paterson.
DeleteThanks for reading my blog and commenting on it too!
That is a great idea maybe I can add my dream team to the slideshow. It is going to be very hard to choose!
I hope you have been having a great lockdown.
See you next week! Noah:)
Talofa lava Noah. Thank you for the information about NRL. And your player profile presentation is very useful. Great job! I'm impressed by how many players you know. I really like your photo in the slide too, you're the only one smiling :) I think Phil's idea about designing your own jersey is cool. And Mrs Paterson's idea about picking a dream team from NRL sounds awesome.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch rugby league but your blog reminded me of watching my brother play rugby league when he was around your age (4 decades ago). How long has rugby league been around? It's exciting to read how fervent you are about this sport Noah. Malo lava!
Talofa Sally
DeleteThanks for checking out my blog!
Yes i really liked their ideas too, I am going to try make a jersey design for the Warriors and choose my dream team which will be so hard!
Thats so cool that your brother played league. I wonder if he is a Warriors fan like me?
Noah:)
Kia ora Noah! I particularly like the facts on the last slide...I think that young man could have a future in League! To be honest, I don't know much about League or Rugby, in fact before I came to NZ, I had only ever seen one rugby match. Then I came here, and what I thought was Rugby was actually League - I'm still confused by the differences - perhaps that is something you could explain to me? What skills have you been practising at home whilst we've been in lockdown - have you done any online training? Great research Noah - ka pai!
ReplyDeleteHi Miss McGrath, thanks for reading and commenting on my blog today. The main differences between league and union are
Delete1. There are 15 players in union and 13 in league
2. League has a 6 tackle set rule and in union you can have as many as you want as long as there are no mistakes like a knock on
3. The points values are also different. In league a try is worth 4 and if it is converted it is 2 points. In union a try is 5 points and a conversion is also 2 points but they have 3 point penalty and drop goal kicks. A drop kick in league is only 1 point!
Theres lots more smaller rules that are different but i think that explains the main things.
I am lucky that my Dad is my coach so i have been training at home with my Dad when we have time.
See you on Monday. Noah:)
Good afternoon Noah
ReplyDeleteI Sam from St Mary's School
I really liked the photos you posted.
I do not watch the league so I kind of don't know all the players.
I thought your photo is really cool but we don't get to put our full names on our blogs.
